The main function of rubber seals is to provide sealing and prevent media leakage. They achieve this goal by filling the gap between two contacting surfaces, ensuring that the equipment will not be damaged by leakage or cause safety hazards during operation. Sealing gaskets are usually made of elastic materials, such as rubber, and can withstand certain pressure and temperature changes.

Prevent leakage
The main function of rubber seals is to prevent the leakage of liquids or gases. They play a very important role in mechanical systems, such as in engines, pumps, pipelines and other equipment to prevent oil, water or gas leakage.

Improve equipment performance
Since seals ensure that there are no leaks at the connection, they play a key role in ensuring the long-term stable operation of equipment. Leak-free parts can not only improve efficiency, but also extend the service life of equipment.

Reduce wear and corrosion
In some industrial applications, rubber seals can effectively isolate the contact between the medium and the metal surface, reduce the wear and corrosion of the metal, and protect the equipment from chemical substances.

Material selection of rubber seals
The material of rubber seals is crucial to its performance and service life. Different application environments require the selection of different types of rubber materials. Common rubber materials include:

Natural rubber (NR)
Natural rubber has excellent elasticity, wear resistance and heat resistance, and is suitable for mild pressure applications in low and normal temperature environments. However, it performs poorly in oil resistance and chemical resistance.

Fluororubber (FKM)
Fluororubber has excellent high temperature resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, and is widely used in the chemical industry and aerospace fields. They can withstand high temperatures and a variety of chemical media.

Silicone rubber (VMQ)
Silicone rubber has excellent high temperature stability and low temperature flexibility, and is particularly suitable for environments with large temperature fluctuations, such as food processing, medical equipment and other fields.

Nitrile rubber (NBR)
Nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance, wear resistance and aging resistance, and is often used in the automotive industry, oil and gas industry, etc. They are very reliable in sealing oils, hydraulic oils, etc.

EPDM rubber (ethylene propylene rubber)
EPDM rubber has excellent weather resistance, oxidation resistance and water resistance, and is widely used in sealing applications in outdoor environments, such as automotive door and window seals.
